Corman’s film «St. Valentine’s Day Massacre» of 1967, judging by its title, of course, reveals the subplot to the full extent, perhaps the picture is not a masterpiece in the artistic sense, but it is made by Corman diligently and describes the events around the said crime in maximum detail.
By the way, the events of the Chicago gangster wars, with a lot of characters, are presented quite well, with care for the audience. The actors may not all bear a portrait resemblance to their prototypes, but they are extremely textured and play surprisingly well. The historical entourage, all these facades, interiors and automobiles, plus all that, the film has some humor, which is not very often seen in Corman’s works.
